This is a moving piece of poetic art, Tate. All of your work strikes me as one who has come to understand that he has made many mistakes in life. Taken too many things, loved ones for granted. And rather than sit back basking in sorrow over all that has past, and can't be undone you do as any wise and intelligent man would. Look back on your mistakes to see just where the errors were made. Trying to take a positive away from the experience. And then trying to pass the knowledge you have gained onto others, so that they hopefully won't make the same errors. Only intelligent people learn from their mistakes, not allowing them to weigh them down. Life is but a learning block. We walk it everyday...
Another deep meaning, and most touching poem, Tate. Magnificent!
A classic piece, nicely penned. I enjoyed this so much!
The picture just set the poem off beautifully. As always
your writing is inspiring and I am in awe of your talent!
There's something magical and mystical about this poem .. it touches the heart and spirit then, remains like a smile. It's beautiful, gentle, sharing a secret of how it was and can be.
'He'd offered me an apple; We each took but half not whole.' Life is or should be like that, sharing .. coz sharing makes friendship something apart, something special.
I read this, and it brought a smile to my face. It shows of one being young, and not judging a friend over appearance. It's like you looked into this child's soul, seen that he was of good. Like you looked into the child's eyes and saw your own. I enjoyed this thoroughly.
