A Day In The LifeA Poem by Tate MorganShe thought this soul she'd keep.
Her life so far fulfilling and good. Expecting nothing special this day. Thinking he would be early not late. She practiced what not to say. The sound of the bell tolled the hour. Or was it the door she'd heard? Gathering her thoughts, feeling flushed. She opened but said not a word. So different so sweet, maybe divine? She knew not what he could be. Eye's so bright, his soul ablaze. The deepest fires of man burned in He. She drowns in his gentle eyes. Got lost in the waves of blue. Questions answered with a touch. How he felt the same way too. Who was this man here standing? Why was it she was so entranced? By the time that night had ended. They'd laughed, cried and danced. Whatever was the reason why? She had felt her heart abloom. She had never felt so intrigued. As when he walked in the room. So far unable to bare him going. She wished he would fall asleep. For all the tomorrows that follow. She thought this soul she'd keep.
