Life

Life

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Life is not a race to be won.

"

                                                     Tatertot

I wonder where the songs come from

watching children skip all 'round

Playing like time had no meaning

as snow fell upon the ground

Man's last words are never of work

nor to rule the entire world

They wish they'd spent time with others

as enlightenment's unfurled

When you rush along through your day

throwing out gifts un-opened

The dreams your parents had for you

the ones that go unspoken

Take time out of your stressful day

and try not to dance so fast

Life is not a race to be won

sadly the music won't last

The chance to dance upon this world is granted to us but once. Don't live the last half in regrets of lost moments from the first.

This is what I was looking for... Its so inspiring!!! Beautiful thoughts and beautiful words Tate... You always come up with something that's so overwhelming... There's so much to learn from you!
Time just slips through our hands and life just passes by when we are so busy planning...
Gifts un-opened, dreams unspoken... these are wonderful expressions!
Thanks for sharing! :)

And you have beautiful kids!!! :)))

This was absolutely tender and lovely. You actually made me cry. Thank you for writing this.
If only we could plaster this on our foreheads during the day, then maybe we could truly remember the important things.

As one who has recently taken a moment to look around and had to realize that I have a daughter who is now 16...well, this one gets my heart.

Nice job.

Darn! If you had to have an epitaph, this should be it (along with all of the great things you have been in your life, such as father, son, etc.). Anyways, This poem, and the pictures that went along with it, probably (and this is the first time I have ever used these words) spoke volumes.
Just a note. You should replace the word "had" with "has" in line 3, to keep in the moment. But that's just my input.
Until death, keep writing!1

Wise Words.

Your pictures were placed in the right order to convey that feeling of awe and had a magical ability to make one reminisce of those precious moments of which you speak of, those carefree kid moments. happy times.
Overall, written well, very thought provoking. Enjoyed reading this one.
Good Job.
