Quiet Gardens Keep

Quiet Gardens Keep

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Her face is like the rising sun.

"

Her face is like the rising sun

who's light cast shadow on me

In darkness far and silent

where no one else could see

A mind and wit full from dreams

shines bright in summer's embrace

Close beside some ancient column

the wind leaves love's sweet trace

Her lips do scream to love me

in the small quiet gardens keep

Kissing my cheek each evening

before I lay my head to sleep

In a garden long ago we walked and spoke of a future. Reality became a much better predictor of happiness

A beautiful and gentle poem. The sweet and kind people who allow us into their life. Give us purpose and reason. A outstanding poem.

Short and sweet - the way I like my women (just joking). This is well done... I don't know what it is about your writing but I always seem to like better the poems that have lines separating the stanzas (is that just me or some sort of mind trick you play). You use an apostrophe in the first stanza,, but missed one in 'summers' and another in 'loves.' The first line in the closing stanza seems a bit forced (notice how I say forced, convoluted, contrived, artificial and other things to mean the same thing - disrupted word order (and in this case the inclusion of an extra word or two (do and to)). Whatever, I do like this poem... its sentimentality, its brevity and the easy flow to its closing. Good work.

Tate, oh my man Tate, I believe you will keep me in awe! Splendid, I say! I always enjoy reading you so I must do it in doses or I seem to become lost in your words and then cannot find my own...YOU my friend are an incredible Poet!

'Her face is like the rising sun.
Who's light cast shadow on me.'

I see this as someone better than you could ever be highlighting your faults, that's love all over.

There's always a mournful undertone in your poems, as tender and loving as they are. I'm fast becoming a fan.

There is such a tenderness expressed through your words here. In her beauty there is almost a lullaby, and in her music dreams come alive. Wondrous write!
