Memory

Memory

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

What need have I for coins of Gold

"

Daughter Aris and I

The world has riches oh so rare

but shares them only with a few

What I love is worth so much more

         they are recollections of you

I need so few of this world's goods

having all your thoughts, ways and deeds

They lift my soul to the heavens

where I plant love's garden of seeds

Through your eyes I have seen wonders

so numerous I can't count

But oh such beauty none the less

before God I could not recount

What need have I for coins of gold

they can't buy what my eyes can see

My treasures lie within your smiles

stamped in the mint of memory

Dear Lord, this was so beautiful I swear it touched my soul. Every line is like a burst of overwhelming beauty the not only encourages but pushes and tugs at the reader to read on and crave more. Honestly, I was breathless by the end of it, my eyes were absorbed by each word as was the rest of being, reading this was an experience I wouldn't mind having a few hundred times more. Thank you for sharing.

Those photos are amazing. Two happy and beautiful kids. The poem was beautiful. To keep hope and dreams of youth. I believe the world would be a better place. A excellent poem.

There is a depth to your words that feels so uniquely personal, as if you truly empty your heart and soul upon the page. The entire piece is a glorious journey, for such privileged readers, but the final two lines,
"My treasure lie within your smiles
stamped in the mint of Memory"
This sums up your wonderful writing for me, just beautiful Tate!

It's nice to know whats important. It seems a lot of people must find out after its too late.

The photos are lovely, your words are lovely .. seems there's nothing like the love of a parent for his or her child, and the memories they make from the moment born are a billion times more valuable than any other manmade creation.

'Through your eyes I have seen wonders so numerous I can't count' .. I don't have children (yet) but family and friends have told me how it is when a child gives an unexpected cuddle or does something for the first time then turns to see what mum/dad thinks .. all those moments build up over the years and really do add up to your 'coins of Gold'

If only all parents felt as you, if only all humans felt the same .. so much unkindness, so much greed ..

Such a beautiful piece. Money is worthless when you are rich in love and family. There are some things in life that you can not put a price on and those are the things thats are worth the most. You have a way with words that express the true emotions of a person. I loved it. By the way your children are beautiful.

A beautiful poem - amazingly written and a fantastic reminder that the most precious and beautiful things in life can not be simply bought in a store.
Wonderful and loving poem showing how important your children are to you and how you cherish them and the memories they create for you.
