Memory

Memory

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

What need have I for coins of Gold

"

Daughter Aris and I

The world has riches oh so rare

but shares them only with a few

What I love is worth so much more

         they are recollections of you

I need so few of this world's goods

having all your thoughts, ways and deeds

They lift my soul to the heavens

where I plant love's garden of seeds

Through your eyes I have seen wonders

so numerous I can't count

But oh such beauty none the less

before God I could not recount

What need have I for coins of gold

they can't buy what my eyes can see

My treasures lie within your smiles

stamped in the mint of memory

Dear Lord, this was so beautiful I swear it touched my soul. Every line is like a burst of overwhelming beauty the not only encourages but pushes and tugs at the reader to read on and crave more. Honestly, I was breathless by the end of it, my eyes were absorbed by each word as was the rest of being, reading this was an experience I wouldn't mind having a few hundred times more. Thank you for sharing.

Ah! Oh! Ahhh! Beautiful!

Tate, I was making all these expressions while reading your poem!
You have truly written, that the gifts we cherish the most, are priceless and money cannot buy them - They are heavenly!

I have a happy and eternal feeling reading this poem, how you cherish the gifts (your children) you have got! They are really the most important treasure we can ever get!

As with always, the poem rhymes beautifully...

The lines I loved best are the lines that convey your feelings the most!
"What I love is worth more than that
they are recollections of you"

"What need have I for coins of Gold
they can't buy what our eyes can see
My treasure lie within your smiles
stamped in the mint of Memory"

Why indeed do we need to have gold coins when our children bring riches that all the wealth in the world cannot replicate? Just beautiful Tate.....your children are lovely and the memories linger strong in your mind. A classic my friend........another to my favorite folder!
