Childhood Nights

Childhood Nights

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

How sweet our former lives.

"

me Tony Kernie

Me on the left Tony in the middle and Kerny on the right

In dreams of my sweet former life

 with the wonders childhood poses

I find those friends I left behind

still so young and fresh like roses

I wonder if to them I'm old

when they think upon occasion

Do they wonder as, I do

of that inner child's persuasion

To me they are the cherished ones

memories of lost summer nights

When we played hide and seek till dark

enriched by all life's smells and sights

In dreams they live on as before

echoes of games we use to play

I start each night as they ended

with the dreams from yesterday

Your welcome!
There is little more beautiful and fulfilling than sitting back and fully remembering one's youth. I often have dreams of days gone by, and it is always bittersweet when I wake. Great imagery and emotion in this one. Nicely done.

Sarah what I wouldnt give to be a child again thank you
For those of us who were blessed with wonderful childhood, those memories carry us throughout our lives. I still see my childhood friends as the innocent youths they were, knowing that Life has intervened... A sweet write that warms the heart, Tate!

Hi Rita The same for me I still think of them often
Mon Cher Tate

Ici tu me présentes tous les deux - comme tu l’exprimes ‘Tatertot and I’

5) Lignes favorites ? Tes dernières :

‘In dreams they live on as before
echoes of games we use to play
I start each night as they ended
with the dreams from yesterday’

Passé/ présent.

6) Vue d’ensemble : Qu’est-ce qu’il y a à dire de plus? Comme toujours poésie de finesse!

Chaleureusement

The dreams are the same, but different as well...
The color may fade, but the feelings seem to deepen.
Thank you for this dream of poetry and song.
You use a powerful tool to bring comfort to a common day.

This poem Tate brings me back to my own childhood...and sometimes the visit is pretty amazing! When we are young we want to grow up fast and become adults, then we get there only to look back on those days and realized that some of those days were the best days of our lives. I needed a happy note to end my day...thanks!!
