Jessica

Jessica

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

A pixie of a girl for sure who weighs but a hundred true Yet has a heart larger than mine or any I ever knew

"

My Daughter Jessica

I have a daughter Jessica

just as sweet as she can be

And every time I look at her

she is smiling back at me

She gave me all my grandchildren

with the joys that each would bring

Her face is bright as morning dew

like the first breath of the spring

A pixie of a girl for sure

who weighs but a hundred true

Yet has a heart larger than mine

or any I ever knew

Each time we stop by to visit

she suspends rules of the house

Lets me do whatever I want

the same as her loving spouse

Of my children she is the one

I have not done justice to

The truth be told it's all my fault

"oh Jessie I do love you"

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
Of late I had jessica and the kids over. In our conversations I realized I had been remise. I had neglected my daughter Jessica. Of my three children she is the only one I have never written of. Yet though I had not honored her with anything. She had given to me most of my happiest memories of late. I can't remember a time when I saw her that she didn't say "I Love You ' to me. She is the mother to Payton, Landon, and Eli my grandchildren. I am sorry. This is my fault. So Jessie I stand before you a repentant father and ask that you accept this from me as the first installment of what will likely be many more.

Such a beautiful young woman who will love you whenever you say, 'I love you!' She probably knew and knows that whatever, but those words should be repeated every so often wrapped in a smile and a hug. Better late than never, sir.

Many thanks. My daughter has been a sense of joy for me for quite some time.
Beautiful praise you have given to one who has moved your heart to words. Timely praise and expression of appreciation is a needed and welcome now instead of later kind of thing. thanks for the post -carl

Hi Tate,
Oh how I love this poem fro Jessica and what an amazing photo... She is full of light...One only needs to look at her face to see it. You are a wonderful father to have written such a heartwarming poem for her and I am quite sure she loves and appreciates it.
Overall reading your authors notes it appears you have a wonderful and happy life...with children and grandchildren...what more can one ask for...

Sometimes life gets in the way and it takes a loved one to remind us of who we are.
Tate, my friend, you have set to pen of page a most beautiful tribute to your daughter ... Over a span of many years, I have come to understand that daughters are, indeed, a more blissed as blessed gift to fathers as those sons we are readily so proud of ...

What a sweet and heartfelt tribute to your daughter. I love my girls. I love my grandson too but my daughters and granddaughters still have a special place in an old man's heart. They are like flowers in a field of dreams. My grandson is more like a tiny Thor, god of thunder! Ha. He has waist length blonde curls, bright blue eyes and a stocky frame with tiny muscles. He stalks the house with action figures and toy trucks. I think our kids know we love them but it's good to tell them often too. This is a fine and beautiful poem but even more so, the sentiment behind it. F.
