Time

Time

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

We count most years of life well spent the few touched by sorrow well lost I know the best that came and went the others bought at twice the cost

"
becky and i

It takes some time to find the way

that leads us to life's master plan

Till then we take it day by day

as the boy grows to be a man

We count most years of life well spent

the few touched by sorrow well lost

I know the best that came and went

others purchased at twice the cost

We sway in rhythm to the time

as we dance through years and weather

Matching hearts beat to inner rhyme

we'll end it the same together

When minds are tired and our hearts old

oh we'll cherish those days of strife

For one more chance to be so bold

as to touch heaven in this life

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
It is always with the greatest humility that I admit that any man who holds within himself the feeling of greatness has a woman who grants him that bravado.

Always philosophical, Tate. I do tend to agree with Marie, however, on that V.2 line 3. - 'that' came and went instead of 'have' came and went. There is always a certain wistfulness about your poetry, that life is passing by too quickly, and you are looking back already, before it's done. Hang on to the present, my friend, before it also becomes the past.

Having had the chance to see the original rough drafts of this poem the final poem bares little resemblance to the original . However I get to see the way you create these things the way your imagination shapes them from rough shapeless images into great work. This one has truly been through the fire and come out well done.
You always deliver

This is a lovely tribute to your wife, and I wish you many more happy years together. But I've got to point out something.
Look at the third line of the second verse. Do you really want to write "I know the best have came and went"? Maybe

"I know the best that came and went"...?

This poem reflects how a special soul can be a blessing.
This is splendid work. Another great story of humanity.
These effects on other people are what we are here for.

thank you Zeitgeist. When asked what race I belong to It is always the human race.
yes ... chills up and down .. what is a man without his woman .. who will refuse to celebrate the life you speak off?? not many .. you have penned a most thoughtful and provoking line in this:
"I know the best have came and went
while the others were sold at cost"
i think a lot went into it! .. and i feel drawn into your experience ... i think it is deep and real .. another wonderful life piece says i!

Thank you Einstein You are a man of deep reflection I appreciate that
It's such a wonderful state to share that love through life's journeys. To live each day with less than the fullness of gratitude would be sacrilegious at best. I love to know others who share that sentiment, as your poem shows you share. Well penned.

We find from time to time that the person we love is a totem of expression about the rest of society. They define what we are in a sea where everyone is special. Its what we rely on as our compass of direction in the world. Nicely said buddy ...
