Time

Time

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

We count most years of life well spent the few touched by sorrow well lost I know the best that came and went the others bought at twice the cost

"
becky and i

It takes some time to find the way

that leads us to life's master plan

Till then we take it day by day

as the boy grows to be a man

We count most years of life well spent

the few touched by sorrow well lost

I know the best that came and went

others purchased at twice the cost

We sway in rhythm to the time

as we dance through years and weather

Matching hearts beat to inner rhyme

we'll end it the same together

When minds are tired and our hearts old

oh we'll cherish those days of strife

For one more chance to be so bold

as to touch heaven in this life

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
It is always with the greatest humility that I admit that any man who holds within himself the feeling of greatness has a woman who grants him that bravado.

Always philosophical, Tate. I do tend to agree with Marie, however, on that V.2 line 3. - 'that' came and went instead of 'have' came and went. There is always a certain wistfulness about your poetry, that life is passing by too quickly, and you are looking back already, before it's done. Hang on to the present, my friend, before it also becomes the past.

Thank you I was trying to get to the melodies of life that flow like a river through our veins
Tate that was absolutely outstanding. You filled a red neck knuckle dragger like me with emotion that I can relate to. Thank you for sharing. It is no wonder you have your own books done. Well done.

"For one more chance to be so bold
as to touch heaven in this life" - So beautiful. And the perfect song to accompany the poem. Love can truly complete and bring out the best in each.

Thank you Pryde I wanted to evoke the melodies of life in this piece the music we all dance too
This is just wonderful. Time is the first poem I've read by you, just kind of stumbled on it here. A striking and powerful poem that cuts right to the bone. Tightly structured, beautifully rendered imagery and themes. Perfect. I look forward to reading more from you.

Thank you Phibby always a treasure to see you .Love ya Tate
A beautiful life described in equally beautiful words and the music takes the feeling of accomplishment and mutual care to the next level. When its able to stand the test of time then it is true for sure.
