Papa Tate

Papa Tate

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

We mixed colors from childhood with gentle tones that came with time gave birth to a generation that became the pride of our prime

"

My granddaughter Payton and I

We mixed colors from childhood

with gentle tones that came with time

gave birth to a generation

that became the pride of our prime

Those were days of joys un-ending

you think we won't see anymore

'Cause where we find ourselves these days

we have never been to before

Each place in life brings adventure

meant to try us all of our days

To test resolve and resilience

that we apply to each new phase

We will always have a purpose

as now I am called Papa Tate

To tell you the truth I love it

being a grandfather is great

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
The days of life may dim at times and new things always feel unsafe and insecure. But what we fear is infirmity. However Life is only good as long as it is changing and growing. Like the seasons we come and go and face the end like any man. So it is that when the time comes I'll conform to the masters plan

Beautiful take on a stage of life, change and adaptation to new things coming your way. I have yet to experience even becoming a father but cannot wait. We live on through blood.

Thank you my kids are always the treasure i hold most dear.
A beautiful photo and words. I believe I'm a better Grandpa than father. The raising of four kids taught me patience and love. I babysit my three grand-boys three days a week. Our grand kids are our pride and joy. Thank you for sharing your photos and words.

Me too. Good to be the Grandpa.
And very nice too, Tate, a new era in your life. I'm into the Great-grandfather bit myself, with six now and more on the way. It's remarkable to watch and see what we started as we get older. Our time is done, theirs is coming up. I hope they don't make such a mess of it as we did.

You had me at hello...you mixed those colors so exquisitely as you always do, how could you not be content with this piece of poetry, it's charming, you've personified grandpa's love so sweetly! Payton might be too young in this moment, to understand the grand gesture but she will love this to bits when she gets a wee bit older...

Hey Grandpa! ... The quality of senior citizenry may have just improved. You are absolutely right in the poem ... and its wonderful to find ... that the transition we create from generation to generation just got better. I'm certain ... the gap ... in generation gap ... is gradually closing. Hang in there ...
