Stand By Me

Stand By Me

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

Love immortal and unchanging devotion spans the wall Over which we go exchanging our smiles with one and all

"
Becky and I
Becky and I

We seek a kind and faithful friend

devotions sweet flower

One who will stand by till the end

lighting the darkest hour

Love immortal thoughts exchanging

devotion scales the wall

There we share our love unchanging

with smiles for one and all

Her guiding hand which proves so sound

my inner soul to see

Oh may no love that's ever found

mean more than she, to me

To have a great lifelong friend is one of the greatest and most profound experiences. I would encourage all who have not done so to try it. The answer to all who would topple your life is the unwavering devotion of a friend

That last stanza is poetic perfection. Immaculate. This whole piece is powerful and incredibly tender, you are so lucky to know love and to have been loved in this way... I enjoyed this poem very much, you're a remarkable writer, Tate. 1

Most of the times friends treat there friends much nicer and better than there blood brothers and sisters.Friends are very important people in our lives. They can orchestrate one's failure or success. One should be grateful if he/she has a friend who always says the truth,a friend who is real.

That's very nice of you Mr.Tate for appreciating your friend through a poem.I believe she will be very happy to see/read this poem.

I will say it to all of cafe..thank you Lily Mae for being my "somebody special" if only I could write a poem worthy of her friendship. There's something lovely about woman to woman bonding...I'm sure she loves her like a sister if not more. What a lovely tribute to that special person in your woman's life. xo

A true friend is a precious thing. In this day and age when complete strangers "friend" each other left, right, and center, the real deal is often overlooked. Your wife is wealthy beyond riches to have Theresa (and you) in her life. Thank you for sharing this, Tate. Very beautiful write.

What a nice picture of two so beautiful ladies. They look something alike, don't they? I have never had a close friend, though what a blessing it would be. I almost had one, but she died. And that's another story...

Well done with a rhyme and rhythm that has become a standard with your writing. As always, your story is heartwarming.

To have a lifelong friend is a blessing; it can also be the most dangerous thing because of all the secrets they know of you and your life.
It is wonderful that you are okay with her emotional bond with Theresa and compiled this beautiful tribute to something that means so much to your wife.

True friends are hard to come by and when you find one you have found a diamond in the rough. This is a wonderful tribute to your wife and her friend and it would hold true for anyone that has such a connection with another. A beautiful poem Tate!
