Daddy's Home

Daddy's Home

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

My days were pained with great laments work and bills had beaten me down I wondered why god let this be the truth of life in my small town

"
My daughter Aris and I

When I was young and dreams abound

no limit to virility

My hopes and dreams had left a sound

of silent, calm, nobility

Nature had blessed my heart with love

so that light would live in my brain

And in that place that I called home

the flicker of love would remain

My days were pained with great laments

work and bills had beaten me down

I wondered why God let this be

the truth of life in my small town

I asked that question of my God

"send me a sign, that I might see"

As little feet echoed the street

cries of "Daddy's Home!" answered me

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
When we are young our own hopes and dreams are the only thing on our minds. Then comes the day when you realize how short and how sweet life truly is. When your child looks at you as a man and smiles with that innocent cried unwavering admiration for what you take for granted. The ability to put a roof over their heads and a song in their heart. I was thinking of my little friend Drake Cooper today. He use to run down the hall screaming "Tates here"!.Then jump in my arms. It reminded me of my own boy when he was that little. And so endeared him to my heart.

For all the fathers whose unsung dreams were just to be a part of their childs life.

Such an emotional write, Tate, I almost teared up - (but don't tell anyone!). Those last two lines really hit home. It's been a long time since my children were that small and dependent on me, but those memories never fade. The best times of our lives.

I agree with the desire of the poem. Some words are powerful. Grandpa, father and brother are words we need to hear. Make us learn life is worth living. Thank you for the beautiful photograph and poem.

I've avoided this read for very personal reasons, but I know there are those that have wonderful memories of when 'daddy's home' rings true. This was worth the apprehensive visit, it's simply lovely.

Always a good lesson - what we wish for the most is right in front of our eyes. Sweet, comforting rhyming. I liked it!

Wow, I'm not there yet, but I look forward to the day that I get to experience the joy of a child when they discover that I've returned - you make it sound like the perfect moment, which I'm sure it will be.

'Daddy's Home' pays homage to every father who love their children. Tate, you are truly a talented artist of words and an even better father who is most blessed~

Though a woman, I relate to these words:) Your ending is so perfect. I love how the pondering ends with sweet realization that our prayers are answered often before our very eyes if we look to see.
