My Soul to Thee

My Soul to Thee

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

To my third I gave my all bundled and tied within a ring Breathing the very air of her soul to me she was everything

"
Becky and I Christmas 2012

My first love I gave devotion

in that curious wonderful way

Always searching her for Heaven

while we two spent our days at play

____________________________

To my second love went strength

rock of the heart to be broke in two

So less like the many

so much more like the few

____________________________

To my third I gave my all

bundled and tied within a ring

Breathing the very air of her soul

to me she was everything

____________________________

My first love gave me sight

opening the eye's of man to see

Promising me the world

showing what a woman could be

___________________________

My second gave me arms of love

that on cold nights held on tight

Promising to love me forever

squeezing with all their might

_________________________

But oh it was my third love

that set my mind free

Who crafted a selfless character

then gave my soul to me

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
Who can say with any certainty just which way in life is the correct path? It has been my contention and then my conviction, that one is best served by following the heart. It sometimes leads us to pain or the highway to hell such as the road that claimed one of our best and brightest Janis Joplin. After failing twice before to find my own place in life I asked myself. Which is worse to give your all and ultimately fail, or to never truly risk anything? For me the answer lies somewhere within the failure of truth to teach us the value of the real treasures in our lives. Taking stock in ourselves and our own self-worth and given enough time and a bit of luck it will take us to the place where we learn the meaning of love, that place we inevitably call Home!
Failure is only present in he who refuses to risk his pride in the effort.

The symphony created by an orchestra comes from many fine instruments in its ensemble. Together they create a tune to which we nod our heads ... tap the feet and then perhaps one day we might rise to sing to it. That is as true of a symphony, the world outside or the relation we may have with a woman. She's the man's companion and guide.

Well Tate, your poetry stands as artistic decoration in this garden of life. I like to visit the place where your work accents the beauty around it. A comforting vista of love and satisfaction.
However, I must say that there heart is a fickle master. I think the heart follows the mind even if we do not understand it. Where the mind and the choices bring us to action and inaction then the heart must follow. We find that happiness by making choices that bring our heart to the place that it may find peace and happiness. It is then, that we can embrace our own heart because we are not divided against our own well being. Just a thought on the "Author's Note". Love you work Tate!
Be well.

The perseverance, to look within your heart, once, twice, now to walk two souls to eternity, home,Bravo, "break a leg",I feel like a child. The innocents of young love, a fresh two year old leaning in the bit,no boundaries, reaching willing himself to the front,to have him physically and mentally ready for the effort he is going to put out,A trainers job,but us humans, who would we listen to? What do we measure by? We
can't even eat right, aren't shod right, probably have worms,a bean or two ,Of course any gal with a rope could pen us up,and there we will starve with feed and water right outside the gate, then curiosity teases , we bolt, and springs fresh new grass,gone....

Classic Tate Morgan.
I agree with following the heart. It doesn't hurt to be guided by the love of one who loves you.
Well done, Tate.
