Passion

Passion

A Poem by J Mourning

What is this thing
that we have called
Passion. Overwhelming,
Breathing deeply, screaming
inside - energy so deep
it must be let out
or we will surely perish.
Passion is thirst
quenched only by
placing ourselves at the mercy
of others. Passion a
dream awoken by flesh.
Fruit and Flower,
a calling, and lust.
Passion is that
which makes us more
than what we are.
Passion guides us
beyond ourselves
and beyond rational.
If not for Passion,
life as we know it
would be but a faded
dream in black and
white.

With beauty and grace and even poetry you emphasized one of the most important essences of life.
Consciously as well an unconsciously passion - I'd even like to say - passions guide our way ...
Very well done - a favorite!
