To The Boy Who Is Gay

To The Boy Who Is Gay

A Poem by Alexandra

To the boy who is gay:
I know that you are scared of telling people the truth and what they will say.
If they will walk away or stay.
I know the feeling of wanting to be found, but feeling that you will never be found.

To the boy who is gay:
I know that when you go home, you just want to tell your parents who you are,
But you are afraid that you might leave a scar.
You might make them ashamed and they start calling you names.

To the boy who is gay:
I know that no matter how hard you try, you will never be able to explain why.
You can't change the way you were born and you are not the devil with horns.
You tell them you didn't choose to be gay and it's not something they can just downplay.

To the boy who is gay:
I know that when people call you f****t, and then just say it out of habit
There is no life jacket that can save you.
You feel like you are drowning and all you cam do is keep counting
Because the voices in your head are saying you should be dead.

To the boy who is gay:
Your prince charming is out there somewhere.
Don't give up just yet, there is a happy ending you will get.
Please listen to me, there is so much that you can't see.

To the boy who is gay:
Remember the words I said, and there is so much ahead.
You are the light, you are bright as the stars in the sky.
Remember to spread your wings and fly.
