I AM WHAT I AM

Don’t judge me by  my appearance

Don’t judge me through your ignorance,

Don’t you ever misjudge me even once

Cause  in this world someone gave me importance

 

Don’t judge me by my wealth

I may not have even a piece of gold,

But i am much worthy than a diamond

Cause you can’t buy me through any price

 

Don’t judge me through my intelligence

I may not be so smart, i may not have enough knowledge

But i can still fathom my goals and dreams

Through the use of my senses

 

Don’t judge me by my character

I may not be so kind

I may be out of conduct sometimes

But it is worth doing rather than wearing a mask

 

I may not have the raving looks,

I may not be not have everything

It is simply because, i am unique

I AM ME !!!

Good words to live by, Arvin - and most definitely seen in your poem here. I do not consider myself a diamond though. Topaz was an alias I went by once. Someone asked me why and I explained, "Because I am semi-precious and multi-faceted." and - that is enough for me. :)

The best what ? :) I believe, and perhaps this is just me, we each have the potential to leave our mark in the world. Be it for good or ill, we =WILL= be remembered for the actions we take and have taken.

Right now, there are many years ahead of us before we are laid to rest. Sure some of us can float along and never accomplish anything, but better still - wouldn't it be great to do something - that people remember us for in the many MANY years to come, long after our time, and perhaps even long after theirs.
