A Poem by Sloan Chambers
"

I got so bored.

"
Equations

Does anyone know what it's like
to truly have a friend
to not be like me and
unknowingly keeping everyone
at arm's length
ready to uproot and leave
whenever I need to
to feel like you always must
keep everyone away
and take yourself out of the equation
even though
life is not math
and your world is not poetry
relationships are not information
and people are not words
and they rarely are what they seem
other people have problems
I am not the only one
when I know I cannot enter a
dream world whenever I want
I am stuck in this
Plain world with well-spoken beauties
right out of reach
like always
to wish that everything stayed static
that you could write
up a whole new life like you always do
or make equation for friends
do not make excuses
I beg your pardon?
Not anymore, I am
out of the equation.

Solid features are cascading through this glorious write. For me there is much I can relate to and understand.
