The Snake

The Snake

A Poem by Greg the Bard

The Snake

There is a road through life that we all travel

Mustered by the advent of birth

The map we follow is taught to us by our parents

And we trust their every direction

Then the snake bites

The venom spreads with a speed un-believable

Killing thought of what is real

Destroying the virtue of Jesus himself

Those that see it can accept or deny

But the truth is so visual

Young minds turned away to the wrongs in life

To die a death so meaningless

The parent can’t see it is their words

That spreads the hate

                           To cause the future actions

When the venom strikes home to kill

Race matters not

Gender even less

A waste of humankind

Killed by a venom from within

When we will we wake

The snake crawls swiftly

When will we see?

The name of the snake is US
