Love LostA Poem by Greg the BardLove Lost When time has killed ones taste for love The issue is not maintained in grace For time plays a game with a person’s soul When they are looking forward to getting old The things one loses as we can remember Come up short in late September A gesture here, a nod or wink The feel of a touch now gone extinct Guarded the secretes we bequeath Time trots on under our feet But moments in time we lose our count A life time missed now out of order mount Children come and children go A lifetime shared by two in love Wonder wanes as two grow apart Less the caption for loves just reward Old now I grow unable to tread Body less useful than kept in the head Sad is the time when a man realizes He no longer holds true the love that matters © 2011 Greg the Bard |
