Haggar The Great

Haggar The Great

A Poem by Greg the Bard

Haggar The Great

Short and stout he stands his ground

Swinging his double sided Ax

Cutting the preponderance of flesh

The timber shook as it splintered

Helga his honey looked on in jest

Hoping for a nice fire that night

He does have his way in the nude they play

Cold are the northern nights

What does she see in him?

This bulbous giant!

Blond hair, blue eyes and cheeks of red

All within a beer stained cloak

Happy with laughter that carries for miles

Ready to fight and all with a smile

Cantankerous and loving wrapped up as one

Spontaneous for now never a thought for there-after

Helga now married to him

Her father was pleased

Her mother kept quite

As women did wonder

What was it that women did find in their men?

Haggar was great you know

With beer he could put most to blow

Still was it the way he held her near?

He stood rather short… rather stout…. on the ground

Like a fullback ready to move forward into the crowd

Holding his shield and battle ax true

Ready to do damage as he flew

Friendship never the question

Having your back no matter what your front gave

Taking from the enemy his very soul

Never giving quarter for death

Simple a life is when beer is the fruits of life

Knowing your place and living your life accordingly

Hoping for male children

But never turning away you little girls
