Soft SoundsA Poem by Greg the Bard“Soft Sounds” The music wondered into the room Delicate and Yielding a light somber tune It lingered in the minds of those within Leaving impressions of what had been She lay still with the wonder of want The music came into the room with delight Beside her he lay still from his effort spent The tune fell upon the couple’s intent What just happened, her thoughts entered twined With the music that came into the room She laid exposed half under the sheets A melody strong now with contempt As a cool breeze chilled her naked skin The beat of the music grew stronger and stronger His satisfaction was her true belief Yet now too she wanted her relief The sound ripples across her skin She feels the flow and rhythms And aches for more time As the sun is setting low His mind has caught up to his action The pleasure now sated; the satisfaction of conquest The movement within the soft music Fixing his mind in wonder What just happened, He thinks and why? She’s so beautiful and ripe for taking, but why? The sounds of the sea outside the window Sequestering the ebb of each wave as it laps the shore When did it become less fun than serious love? Is there a difference that can be understood? By understanding is it the same to both Or does it mean something different to each? Does he see her as she sees him? Is this love or just a whim? When the sound stops she hopes for more The music so soft to him implored © 2011 Greg the Bard |
