What If?

What If?

A Poem by Greg the Bard
"

A lark

"

What If

What if Adam never met Eve

What if God was a Woman

What if Homer was Illiterate

What if the Rosette Stone was never found

What if your Mom and Dad never met

What if you were Born in a Third World Country

What if you were Born in a different Time

What if Jesus never was Born

What if Hitler was never Born

What if Napoleon rule the world

What if the Santa Maria sank

What if Franklin's Kite didn't fly

What If ?

Well, a very interesting thought inspiring piece..HUm..if God had been a woman..she never would have made man...that is for sure!! 3rd world country..that is something we in the states will be learning soon I am afraid if we aren't close to being there yet. Being of Jewish ancestry..I would not have been born here I would have probably been born in Germany with the relatives that survived over there and had not ran..As for Napolean..josephine would have put him in line very quickly...God bless..Valentine

i love the wondering, questioning feel of this. It is as difficult to answer as the
question, what famous person would you meet, if you could meet anyone!
i always enjoy the wisdom of your work.

You posed some good questions here, Greg. A mad case of the "What ifs?" These are the kinds of questions that can blow our minds if we dwell on them too long... I especially find them detrimental when it comes to worry: "What if this happens? What if that happens?" A mad cycle of defeat...Thought provoking, friend...

I think the contest is to answer questions, not pose them. But taking the piece out of the context of the contest, I think your freeform poetry is pretty good. I'll note the one correction I found, and other than that, nice piece.

Uhh, the curse of the Luciferic knowledge the beginning of sadness and chaos.

These questions are in vain, because the past cannot be changed. But you can make some good science-fiction novel based on a story about someone who was able to change the past, and returned to the present to see the world that became different from what he left.
