Moments Now Gone

Moments Now Gone

A Poem by Greg the Bard
"

Prose

"

Moments of memory assumed within

Power over the human cause

Forth right in changing the cause

With out changing the person

Action giving legs to the cause

Consuming the soul of the individual

Making life more or less live able

Stationary in the moment

Hair grows white with age

Still wanting a cause

Death waiting in the shadows

Waiting his turn to be part of the cause

Out living your self respect

Not wanting to be a burden

Looking for the right time

To give in and die

Moments of memory now lost

Looking back with a smile

Seeing what you have sown

Growing to heights unamused

Believing in the one true faith

Knowing that you are not lost

Looking forward to the next stage

Waiting for the grace of the Lord

Settling for what you have caused

Knowing it was you that made a cause

Causing your life to have meaning

Leaving this moment to your family

Saying Good by

When it is not necessary

Sleep now and be aware

That you are not alone

Interesting the separation of the words forthright, without, livable, perhaps done for effect.

Deeep and a very emotional piece..You have made me think of my sister when she was dying of cancer..Her love and her smile remain in my heart today and always..I will see her in God's Holy place..God bless..Valentine

I feel sadness permeating these lines, a sadness that
does not lend itself to label, a melancholy of the world
and perhaps a temporary state. We will hope.
You seem to see the sunrise in your last paragraph.
If you ever question your mortality, please try to remember
how many hearts you have lifted with your writing.
Please write more. As you write you will see the sun break
over the horizon and the world awakens to your prose.

Though this seems to have a sad undertone, I like how you wrapped it up at the end with an encouraging word. GREG! Where have you been? Hope all is okay in your neck of the woods.

How is life, my friend?!

Knowing that in life we stood firm for a cause, leaving a footprint in time, all things wondered about as we grow old. Nicely written, with understanding and compassion.
