Make Me a Melody

Make Me a Melody

A Poem by Chirag Kumar

*Make me a melody*

Don't be my moon,
don't be my sun.
Just be my world,
just be the one.
Undo your hair
as I pen a song.
Poets with sonnets
are no longer fun.

Make me a melody
of your hair.
Flow with the breeze,
dance in the air.
Let me roam in
thy forests of aroma.
Let not this be
a passing affair.

Days and nights
are a banal rite.
But not thy eyes
who put up a fight,
against the shallow
who thwart lives.
Blink and wink,
to make me write.

Make me a melody
of your eyes.
Weave into my heart
your truthful lies.
I die a thousand times
with every flutter.
O Girl, a single gaze
should suffice.

Looks don't kill,
but they do deceive.
But your pretty lips
is all I believe.
They smile and cry,
they purse and blush.
A scenic wonder
Is all I achieve.

Make me a melody
of your lips.
I ain't averse
to your fatal tricks.
A fall of peck
and I rise in love.
Some gentle smiles
land me in a fix.
