Resurface
A Poem by Chirag Kumar
Under starlit skies and a lousy moon, we weaved dreams as a present for our tiny future world. Yet, the kaleidoscopic breaths spoke of unsure consciences' doubts that the journey may not kiss the eternity bliss.
And in no time, destiny flung you away from my mortal reaches. I wondered and pondered, cried for days and nights, but to no avail. You were gone forever.
I walk the garden paths where we used to pass by hand in hand, with your peck on my cheek. But today, I find dead butterflies and tulips, greyish winds of gloom, and some rotten memories there.
Days and nights run their course. But my soul is still etched in the wonders of our past. And so when your thoughts resurface, I stand at the rooftops and stare at the brightest twinkle, with a belief that you're with me, forever.
