Language of Hearts

Language of Hearts

A Poem by Chirag Kumar

I'm still a novice
in the art of living
but so are the rest.
All are engrossed
and contended
in their own sweet lives,
breaking bones of destiny
and making castles
out of them.

But beware, O lady.
I'm not a man of cowardice.
I will love you even if
we stay miles apart.
If not our bodies,
we share the rest.
The earth, the moon,
the sky, the sun,
the air we breathe.

We aren't together,
but bound by winds.
So let me plant a kiss
on the breeze's curves
so that it reaches
your cheeks and
sinks in gradually.

When you're on your roll,
busy in your daily chores,
and you smell an aroma,
or feel a wet touch
on your chubby cheeks,
be assured that you've learnt
to speak the language of hearts.

I've learnt it by living
in you since years.
Now is your turn to
seek enlightenment,
and learn steadfastly
to live in my soul.
