Understand

Understand

A Poem by Chirag Kumar

Understand

Who can understand thee,
better than me?

I run in your breaths,
invading tiny cages
freeing the bruises etched
in the leftovers of my heart.

I thrive in your eyes,
and get lost in their webs,
and stay entangled there,
till you blink at last.

I live in your cheeks,
which turn plump red
when my memories conquer thee
in solitude.

I cherish in your lips,
when they aren't pursed
and relish its nectar
till I run out of consciousness.

I flow in your hair,
like Ganga from Shiva's jata,
and calm your nerves
when in tandem.

I lie between your fingers,
when you feel dejected,
and realize that you have
been left alone by thy own.

I cry in your tears,
trickling down profusely,
to soothe your cheeks
and comfort you in pain.

I die in your soul,
when you start to wither,
so that thou can live
for some more moments.

Tell me dear,
who can understand thee,
better than me?

For a time I felt like I am reading a powerful romantic sonnet. One of the best poem.
