Did you know I could..

Did you know I could..

A Poem by Chirag Kumar
"

A pleasant experience with a not so pleasant bank

"

Did you know I could..

I've entered a bank
for some routine work,
and I'm standing since an hour
with a weaning smirk.

The wait has been too long.
Patience is running thin.
Sounds of banging keys, screeching printers
are getting under my skin.

Fill a deposit slip here,
a withdrawal signature there.
Stand back and watch us,
as we rock our f*****g chairs.

AC only makes me wet
but by stinky sweat.
Glum faces everywhere.
No babe here to stare at.

When everything is almost done,
the system goes down.
And I keep standing in dismay,
wearing a Dunce Crown.

But did you know I could
tear all the pamphlets here
trash the security guard,
and bring everyone fear.

Did you know i could,
catch hold of the clerk,
grab his collar, bless him with blows
and make him do my work.

Did you know I could
smash all LED screens,
and laugh at the mayhem,
relish the horror scenes.

Did you know I could
do bhangda* on the banks counter,
and make everyone cry
for their horrendous blunder.

Just when I'm getting high
on tons of s****y thoughts,
the payment is done.
I'm left with solved knots.

I leave the bank with
a pleasant gift of hurting knees.
I lay to rest my innocuous intentions,
as I enjoy the city's smoky breeze.
