The Burial of Last Year

The Burial of Last Year

A Story by Chirag Kumar

Blank thoughts haunt me tonight when I prepare myself for yet another tryst with writing. The glacier of intellect which once used to flow at ease in the form of ideas seem banal when shrouded with black clouds of current thoughts, wherein I encounter a plethora of betrayers.

The wounds are still afresh, breathing anguish into every vein, every muscle of mine. Cold blood oozes out to comfort my skin, yet the dusty flakes ruin its efforts. The saga of torment has continued since then.

But yes, I ought to introspect within and realize that Only I and Only I, am the prime source of misery. That the evils of desire, attachment and expectations have gifted me with abundant pains. That love ain't no barter and is to be done unconditionally. That everything in life is a temporary phenomenon, including life itself.

An advice to myself: STAY DETACHED. Bury the tragics of last year, for whatever happens in this finite journey has at least a miniscule element of good omen endowed in it. Move on, because no amount of tears would make them the persons you wish them to be. As a saying goes by, "Go, not where you're tolerated, but where you're celebrated."

Easier said than done!

A positive spirit expressed - based on a sound philosophy that recognises the effects of desire, attachments and expectations.
