Victory

Victory

A Poem by Chirag Kumar

Flakes of time glide slow,
maintain a steady flow,
only to be depleted in pace
by the overbearing mind,
who refuses to be kind,
towards my rugged paths of life.

It shreds cloaks of sanity
and plunges into depths of vanity,
when fatal blows of lambaste
strike my conscience.
Deceit of prophecy befalls surging grit,
a sheepish climb down
of unshakable beliefs from summit,
as grief throngs every vein of my body.

Just then,
a sudden retaliation from the voice within,
awakens me to rushes of adrenaline.
I realize my dreams aren't far away.
Let the soul arise with every kiss of breath,
and persevere till the final dance of death,
for VICTORY IS BOUND TO BE MINE...

A profound piece and somewhat surreal

Great piece.
Felt like some sorta declaration.
This might not be very relatable but this piece reminded me of Howard Roark of 'The Fountainhead'.
Strong and profound.
Enjoyed it.

This still reads the same to me the second time around!

It seems that you waited till the last minute before your miraculous retaliation brought you victory. Can you afford to wait on this happening every time that you are getting lambasted?
