God

God

A Poem by Chirag Kumar

A question hounds our spirits
Our conscience refuses to bear it
Query which enthralls all
that God do You exist?

Religions preach of your existence
Wars being fought on Your so called insistence
Witnessed bloodshed for thousands of years
But couldn't witness Thee.

Men fear You all the while
Ready to suffer to make You smile
Agents mint money all the way
Tormenting us makes their day
Our fright has become their might
Begging for Your blessings day and night
But I do not find it just and right

So step down from heaven today
Arise to the hands that pray
And show your 'Viraata Roopa" to the world
Under the shower of sunlight
Freeing us from bonds of fright
Remove the misguiding universal veil
Make the religion of humanity prevail.

Hi. Is it not true that the minds of all good people question the world, their environment, and the universe?? I have known many people of varying religious belief who have questioned their faith and their teaching. I believe it is a good thing to query what we are told!!! alf

You're welcome.
As each of us gazes into the cosmos we see with the varying colors and ruminations of our eyes... You so powerfully reflect the horrid effects of certain eyes... thoughts... beliefs... trying to reduce the fullness of God's image to a poor human light... dim and shallow... Yes, may we find the depth of God in our daily lives, and find mercy and justice and love filling the earth once more...

Thanks for reviewing my work Froman :)
God gave us the earth, and we are supposed to use it rightly. He is not going to step down (unless you believe Christ did it) and show us how. We must find the way.

in hard times we seek god,but we can`t find him,so we wonder if he`s real
to find god, you must look daily when there is no trouble i go through the same stuff

so true Wordman :) We forget Him when in gain only to search for Him when in pain
Your final line is similar to my responses to the madness in the world also. We have to become better humans and care for each other rather than killing each other. Especially when it is the innocent who die for the most part. Thank you for sharing your powerful words and msg.
