I had a talk with a health professional (which I am not, sorry) about medications, and he suggested that some people seem to need more pain killers to kill their pain. I suggested that it was possible that some people that use illegal drugs (by which I mean non-preferred medications that "get you high" as well as illegal drugs, basically) a lot might get general tolerance to medication and drugs.
