General Drug Tolerance, High Drug Doses Advised...

On a recent visit to a health care professional, I asked for an expanded medication view.  In also-speak, he advised that some people need additional medication, pain presumably, to deal with their level of drug tolerance.

I suggested that this sounds like people who do a lot of illegal drugs acquiring a general tolerance to medication and drugs, and he agreed.

Don't just dish out the standard medication levels!  Some people have strange chemical makeups of their body, it seems.  And, some people appear to need more than the standard dose of one-size-fits-all medicine.  

How can you say that people have different chemistry of the body, but one prescription will do for everybody?
