Feelings of Security, A Security Fundamental....

For a long time, I have been talking at least with myself about "feelings of security?"  What is the value of being physically and spiritually safe if you are completely or partially terroried?  While I admit that bodily harm is a poor addition to psychological damage alone, security should not be based entirely on the body count.

What is the basis of quality safety standards?  

One measurement of security standards is a home that is free from damage and theft.  Home invasions even if you are away can be a scary affair.  Another indication of proper security would be the number of people that are not scared that a prior assailant is coming for them again, or that justice on such matters has been rendered.

We are in a time of decreased confidence in the government products of the world.  Not so long ago, I read that the Pakistani army was afraid to come off their bases because the rudest and crudest elements of the Taliban, Al Qaida, and The Haqquini network formed an association of terror and other operations including placing people on bombs, at least of them, and sending them to Allah.  Their excursion into Swat Valley did not yield the security it could have, and I did not support the meddling in a region's affairs much less the number of refugees.  

The recent attacks in Paris have undermined the confidence in Western nations of the ability for intelligence and security forces to protect the people from incoming attacks.  I question that there is much operations capacity in this regard at all.  With an estimated 85 million terrorists and insurgents (a valid distinction) under US and British command, I believe, it will be difficult to create the security that is desired, much less the feelings of security.

While magic offers the opportunity to secure to a fuller degree, people will wonder about magic that lost much of the battle all along.  What can be done to increase security and feelings of security, especially with the wasted time on illegal enforcement of so-called moral code?
