My Little Man

My Little Man

A Poem by Kevin S.
"

Christmas time comes once a year Each one bringing up my biggest fear My fear that this will be your last Then all Ill have left is the past

"

Christmas time comes once a year
Each one bringing up my biggest fear
My fear that this will be your last
Then all I’ll have left is the past
The doctors tell us to live for the day
For me and you, it’s the only way
I pray for you, each and every night
To the Lord above, that you will fight
They tell me everything has a reason
But I feel lucky with every season
That you were here to enjoy each one
You look at me and say, “Daddy I’m not done”
The thought of losing you, makes me cry
You don’t understand, you ask me why
You are my boy, my little man
As long as your here, I’ll be your biggest fan
When the time is here for you to go
There is something that you should know
I loved you from the very start
You will always remain in my heart

This is very sentimental and heartwarming but at the same time it is sad as if feels like something is wrong. The fear may be that the boy is growing up and moving away or perhaps something more serious like illness. Very nice piece.
