And the Sun Set Screaming

And the Sun Set Screaming

A Poem by V.B.
"

I like these picture-first, poem-later games.

"
funny how the moonlight
tricks ya into thinking
that she's got herself
a dark side,
when the shadow
of a vulture
circling the carrion
of an angel
is less
completely
black.

scream a prayer
to scare the haunt
or echo an "amen,"
close your eyes now
if you want,
but never sleep again.

the groan of the gallows
follows her around
in a demented serenade,
and those that dance
to her siren song
can harbor no grudge
against the hell
that awaits them.
not even
when she picks their bones
clean of memories.

"scream a prayer .... if you want/but never sleep again" this section i especially like- the dark drama, followed by an almost flippant, wry tone. you have a strong voice in this write. great imagery.

This is a darkly creative response to the picture...with many excellent phrases:
the groan of the gallows... scream a prayer..

So, I take it you're not into the "hello kitty" images.... lol.

You place the words just right to summon the most power to your images. Well done.
