The Far Side of Intentions

The Far Side of Intentions

A Poem by V.B.
"

Thanks for nothing.

"
the hours
have teeth
and my heart is
necrotic, but the
kinetics of guilt will
save me for later;

for there can be no
optimism on demand, or
revenge without planning.

never before have
oxygen and odium
tasted this
hopelessly
indistinguishable.
never has eternity felt so
grossly inadequate.

thanks for nothing... *smile*

If I tell you that this could have been written directly from my own emotions and experience, will you understand how deeply it connects to the roots of the human condition?
Brilliant.

I love the title, first off. That's a little observation, I know. At first, I was skeptical of using an acronym for the format of the poem, but it is so well-done that it worked. Sometimes using evocative words is all that's needed.

My angry soul hurts while reading this. Sigh. Really big sigh.
The last two lines press down on me.

Of course this is brilliant.

I would classify this as my favorite poem of yours. I love how the first letter in each line forms a message. I think it's brilliant in a rather unique way, which you know. The title fits perfectly.
