Cartography

Cartography

A Poem by Sadie Grace

After the fallout we could no longer
recognize the land masses that lay before us.
Upon a time I was a cartographer
of the spaces between our words
I can no longer recognize the lines of your hand
as if you fell asleep writing a letter
and awoke with a new script,
a new story brought from dreams. Aftermath
you and i sit cross-legged lost in thought,
silently preparing for the renaming of things.
