Dear Soul,A Poem by Aradia LecraweA poem I wrote going through something heartbreaking.Dear Soul,
What are you doing today? Do you talk with other souls to hear what they say? Do the voices keep in touch? Or do you not think of them much? Does my heart even remember you? How has it been with you days anew? Can you even see through the windows called my eyes? Have they become foggy or has the sill filled with dead flies? Dear Soul, Sometimes I wonder where you went, where you are right now, or where you days are spent. Are you even the same place I put you? Or have you caught me completely out of the blue? Please be safe, wherever you are. As this lonely fire turns my thoughts to char. Dear Soul, The voices are angry. My heart doesn't beat. I can't even feel the toes on my feet. Your windows have tarnished. My mind's gone too, But I know it is thinking Mostly of you. I miss you often as the room, house, and world Slowly start to soften. The birds do not sing. But if they are, their song has no feeling. Dear Soul, The sun has just set. The nights are cold, and my ends are met. Come home soon, For I cannot enjoy the light of the moon. The suns seems to have left as well, But if it hasn't I cannot feel where the light fell. The wind keeps blowing Strangely, right through me But it knows not of me and keeps flowing. Dear Soul, I feel empty and cold. You don't remember how you were so bold. Don't bother coming back. I have hit the cold floor with a dull smack. I believe you have lied And this last sigh Has just been sighed. But do not forget what I have said. But remember when you come home. I am already dead.
