what do you see?

what do you see?

A Poem by Aprils Child

 What do you see?

What do you see, when you look at me?

Do you see who I am?

Do you really see me?

Do you see the color of my eyes,

or the shade of my skin?

Do you see my fear

or my uncertainty within?

What do you see when you look at me?

Do you see the texture of my hair or clothes that I wear?

Do you think you know who I am, by those that I choose to call friend?

Can you look at me and tell where I am going

Or do you only see where I have been?

Do you see my hurt,

My anger,

My pain?

Or do you see my Joy at lifes simplest things?

What do you see, when you look at me

Do you see who I am

Do you really see me?

Very nice :-)

I think this poem really sums it all up. Most people do make snap judgments based on superficial impressions. They never bother to look for the real person right in front of them.

Very good poem. Looking forward to reading more of your work.
