A Sage's Epilogue

A Sage's Epilogue

A Poem by aprince
"

A recollection of my writings, what does poetry mean to me? What does it mean to you? You may not get all the references if you havent read all my work but I would love to share it with you anyway. I actually kinda teared up writing this.

"

A Sage's Epilogue

The Winter Phantom continues reaping
And the lonely bear is ever weeping
Torn from the loss
Of a childhood friend

While the Grimm Raccoon
Remembers the tune
As I try to heal the gash of June
Living as the omega around the bend

And its all locked in my notebook mind
Every word ripped from every line
To sooth, to suffer, an antidote for all
Are they vain or is it a call

Do I write for those in need
Or are these pages consumed by greed?
A wish to be an epilogue
Poetic tales of a mighty fall

I ask you this, and let it rest
Like the hermit whom we detest
Are you saved by your gifted hand
Or will you sleep inside the sand.

Please rip my work apart if you feel it necessary. A lot of people tell me what a good writer I am but I honestly want criticism to help me improve. Also since this is a references to a lot of my older poems to this date and is made to be an epilogue to them, some of the metaphors may seem random.
