Run, Breathe, Free

Run, Breathe, Free

A Poem by aprilrayne

look up, you

to see an unobtrusive view

slide up, and turn your back

the shadows that enclose around you

they love you

they need you

they find the cruelest niche and find you supple as the sun

they light you

and you will not run

despair me, you

twist and turn your pain

give me, and release the ties

the strings of your devotion relax

they bind you

they choke you

they find the loneliest place in you, as deep as the ocean

they wrap you

and you will not breathe

abandon, me

leave the book behind

leave me, and draw upon the faintest

weak I was against your words

I love you

I need you

I will find the darkest place inside and watch the blood run

I cut you

and you will be free
