An Act of Rich Emotion

An Act of Rich Emotion

A Poem by aprilrayne

Defining acts of love and rich emotion

Carried in an urn to your beck and call

You usher in the weight of my abilities

Or lack thereof,

Kindly coating the tip of poison with a gentle taste,

A gentle smell,

A deep intoxication of your understanding.
But I don’t need it.
In fact, the more I bleed the more you’ll want from me.

And you enjoy it,

To see me squirm on a hook for the tiniest pieces

Of your heart,

The smallest hint off your words,

The faintest suggestion that you’d care

And then swallow it up,

Gulp it down in a last charade

that feeds the magic to weave your wicked mask

And beseech me, lay me out to dry and crack

Bent, broken, but still alive.

I’ll continue to hum, the beat of an ego too big to fail

Thump Thump
Thump Thump

And one day,

I will not come back anymore.
