the joy of marriage

the joy of marriage

A Poem by aprilrayne

a travesty at best

the bitter integrity of pride

the scheming plot thickens your skin

At what point to give in?

Burning desire fuels flames and scorn

frosty spite withers the empty vein

kindly breaking the shells i walk upon

Out in the open plain of forgiveness

I beg for dismissal

A swift and clever detachment from the soul

Regret is the only friend I have

whilst i burden brand new bridges

the rest have all been broken

Patience has a new name

I call it the "wretched"

and miserable as it all seems

there is still decency in our plight

there is still tolerance

there is still love

this is but what marriage does

spoils the rotting coils

and turns the game into a challenge

Love into War

and it takes a toll out on our sanity

it is a travesty at best

and we can't pay it back

This piece is unreal! The electricity running through the tips of your fingers, like downed power lines flowering within darkness. A beautiful crime scene filled with love, and I bet when they're done dusting for prints the only thing found will be the shadows of your talents..!! Thanks for sharing your scars..
