where the boat leaves from

where the boat leaves from

A Poem by April

i see a weightless paper boat
begin to sink with apprehension
and inching up the starboard side
is disaster graced with ill intention
i see a future floating by
with wide-eyed dreams of fortune
but soaking through the thin facade
is hatred and his henchmen
slowly i see a care unfold
and swallow waves of tension
sinking fast beneath the storm
are dreams with no suspension
what happened to the paper boat
with a life free from oppression
that sank its heart and soul and left it
floating lonely on this ocean
it unraveled from its former self
it made no shape to mention
and heavy with its broken dreams
drowned itself in degradation.
