The White Forest

The White Forest

A Poem by Aprille
"

Part One (story in a poem)

"

I

From faraway,

He is staring at me…

Winter owl

Winter trees

Would you tell me who is he?

Of such cold, cold eyes

I have no memory.

And this thing I hold,

I wonder why I even have it

They say it is a sword

What for?

I don’t know.

Winter sky,

Is it supposed to be freezing?

Why do I feel nothing?

Oh white snow,

Why drink so much?

That red liquid,

What is that?

The following stanzas set a nice mood and tone for the rest of the piece.

From faraway,
He is staring at me…

Winter owl
Winter trees
Would you tell me who is he?
Of such cold, cold eyes
I have no memory.

Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much Misty. :)
fantastic write...I adore the stark melancholic mystique you brought
forth in this. reminds me of long ago tales...a person's journey
trying to find their way back home. this takes one away for a while.

Thank you so much. :)
I miss winter so much. I use to live in a place where it snowed 8 months out of the year. Sadly, its sunny here... I love owls too. I just loved all this poem as a whole. Also love the song. Love the color contrast of white and red, red really stands out on white.

Like the addition of "red" amongst the cold, "white" winter...

interesting ... haunting with music that compliments ... such gentle suicide spilling blood on the quiet Winter .. love the owl ..love the trees .. i can see them so clearly .. and the bewilderment from loss of blood ... wow! kind of elegant in tragedy ..at least that is what i see ;)

Wow, this makes the reader think for a bit doesn't it. Did he lose his mind to delirium while committing a crime or is it all a dream. The reader must decide. Nice writing.
