She's No Wildflower

She's No Wildflower

A Poem by Aprille
"

There are things you can't do that others can but there are also things you can do that others cannot.

"

Trying so hard to be someone she’s not

Trying to imitate but cannot…

She can sing her own song, she can write her own poem

Disguised as a daffodil, an unknown wildflower

Some are shutting her down when she is just starting to fly

Falling so low, down below, it hurts her ego

Out of rhyme, out of the world…she came out of the blue

But she’s a flower from the mountain’s crest

Brought by the wind to survive a test

A silver not a gold, glittering proud and bold

Without a name, silently bearing the pain

Her color is shining while inside she’s breaking

If only someone would know, She is no wildflower…

Deep in her dreamy heart, is a shelter of peace and love…

Look a little closer, stare a little longer…

Pure, simple and true…

A yellow cosmos flower amidst the royal daffodils.

A great write about the beauty of the individual, even when they do not fit the mold.

You are welcome.
First let me apologize if I've missed any on my list, been backed up on time and Read requests. I haven't read Frieda's version (or heard the song) but I do know the few pieces I have read from her have been done quite well. This piece speaks about more than just lack of self-esteem, it can easily be regarded as an outcast drowning in depression; however, you deliver the perfect line 'Brought by the wind to survive a test,' why? Because what is true beauty but the inner spirit? When we pass memories fade, actions become forgotten, its the spirit that lives on. The inner conflict while we're here is what makes us strong when we leave.
