She's No WildflowerA Poem by AprilleThere are things you can't do that others can but there are also things you can do that others cannot.Trying
so hard to be someone she’s not Trying
to imitate but cannot… She
can sing her own song, she can write her own poem Disguised
as a daffodil, an unknown wildflower Some
are shutting her down when she is just starting to fly Falling
so low, down below, it hurts her ego Out
of rhyme, out of the world…she came out of the blue
But
she’s a flower from the mountain’s crest Brought
by the wind to survive a test A
silver not a gold, glittering proud and bold Without
a name, silently bearing the pain Her
color is shining while inside she’s breaking If
only someone would know, She is no wildflower… Deep
in her dreamy heart, is a shelter of peace and love… Look
a little closer, stare a little longer… Pure,
simple and true…
