Lavender Sunset

Lavender Sunset

A Poem by Aprille
"

the lavender sunset a month ago just caught my attention... :)

"

Drenched with invisible tears

They couldn't see, I was breaking painlessly…

Had been raining lately,

I thought it would stay ‘til infinity

When I unveiled the windows,

the blissful breeze whispered to me,

“Look up to the sky, you’ll smile”,

A scene… rare and captivating

So rare that everybody was smiling,

My heart was so glad seeing people looking up

It seemed like the Owl City’s Vanilla Twilight

I left my poem of loneliness and sorrow

Can’t finish that piece anymore, even for tomorrow

I regret nothing ‘cause I found something...

A ray of lavender touching my face

wasn't born under a world of sadness

I was born under a beautiful sunset

Somewhere, someone created a mirror for His lavender field,

To share the joy He sees while walking happily

Thus created a vast sky of masterpiece

It was not the end, it was a glittering sunset…

And that was the day I was captivated,

by the bright, lavender sunset.

dear Oive.... Love your lavender sunset.... very healing...
Nature has so many birds and bird songs... with
breath-taking scenes of a storm and then perhaps a rainbow.
Your poem is very emotional... as is life itself. truly, Pat

dear Oive... Born under a lavender sunset...
waking to the early morn...
with possibilities in nature to explore.
Welcome to the beauty to be found.
truly, Pat

I love it simply and sweet it could be just me but I sense a little usage of metaphors. Melodic, harmonizing, song like feel. Powerful emotions, great ending, and lastly beautiful master piece. Make the audience feel like they are apart of something great. This poem causes the read to be involve and wanting to know more about the lavender sunset. For example: "Captivated, how did it felt though obvious still was there a sense of regret??? And if so why???"

This is a really good use of poetry. It signals a very well honed sense of timing, and proper mannerism.
Very well proficient writing. Thanks.

You're much welcome ^_^
This sounds like a beautiful scene to witness, and the words it inspired in you are very good. Well done. I get to enjoy sunrises more because of the direction my home faces, but they give me the same feelings you describe so well here.

Thank you. :) I'm glad you can relate. :)
The legends say Helios ( the sun ) had two sisters ... Eos ( dawn ) and Selene ( sunset and Goddess of the moon ) ... and they say he didn't know which he loved more. Nice ...

Ohh, thank you Dayran. :)
I made complete scenery in my head, it was so beautiful... love the way when people can leave behind loneliness and soak in the warmth of sun and the dry themselves in nature.

Thank you so much for the review. :) ;)
Comes the time you can breathe again - after when you just couldn't. An apt description of life returning.
