I'll stay here and wait...

I'll stay here and wait...

A Poem by Aprille

I’ll stay here and wait

‘til I’m as cold as ice

‘til my breath is dried by the chilling wind

‘til my tears are vanished beyond my eyes

‘til my heart is frozen, still in process of feeling again

‘til the moon shifted from west to east

‘til the Little Dipper is gone away

‘til my yearnings and bitterness are blown away

Here at the top of the roof, I’ll stay…

Close to the moon and skies and stars

Talking to God and the angels and saints

Even to my lost dog some years away…

I can smile when everyone is just listening,

Using the clouds and fogs as answers

I’m grateful to this top of the roof,

Here, I sit and no one bothers

In the world of my kind,

It seems like many can hear

But only few are listening

They have feelings but lacking in understanding

So here, I’ll stay...

I’ll come back when my heart is whole again.

Hi Olive! This is a really nice little poem... it has a richness and a symmetry that is very appealing. The images that you paint are a bit sad and lonely, but very beautiful at the same time. Good work! There were two little confusing lines "tears are vanished" might want to be simply "vanish" ... "still in process to feel again" might want to be "still in the process of feeling again" Other than that it's pretty clear. Again, keep up the good work...

Your words vanish not when the whole is understanding but listens more when the whole is invading. An excellent write...:).

You are welcome...:)...........................
Your words conveyed a sense of floating above the world. Your soul sandwiched between the Earth and the Heavenly bodies/aware and conscious souls. Enjoyed reading this emotional poem.

Hi Olive, this is beautiful! I love the way you use images from nature to express a return to serenity.

I only see one tiny thing: The fourth line should be "‘til my tears have vanished beyond my eyes."

Otherwise don't change a single letter!

A melancholy bedtime story Olive....an introspective look at being misunderstood.
